"Make Mine Music: Peter and the Wolf" [7 of 10] (1946) - 30-Inch "The March" Cel

The color is great. At 30-inches it stands out. And it is in an imposing large frame. A great piece!

30-Inch Peter & Wolf Cel

I bought this piece about the time the company I started was turning the corner from red to black. I brought the piece into my office and referred to it as "Us vs. the Competition." When potential clients would visit the office they would often comment about the piece and seemed to find some amusement when I shared with them my unofficial title.

A number of years later, several of those clients remarked that they distinctly remembered seeing the piece and recalled my comments. I gather that several folks had the impression that below the light-hearted humor was a fairly competitive business side - which is probably true...

----- DATABASE NOTES -----

From “Make Mine Music: Peter and the Wolf" (1946). Peter in the lead with the Wolf being carried on a pole. A large width pan. Very colorful. Peter, Wolf, Ivan (cat), hunters (Mischa, Yascha, Vladimir). Possible that this was used in another film -- the sequence in the film shows the characters marching left to right. This sequence was used in both the Peter and Wolf cartoon AND in "This is your life, Donald Duck." Depending on the direction of the march, this may be from Donald Duck. Music by Sergei Prokofiev (1936 composition). Narration by Sterling Holloway. [Image: 30-1/16"W x 10 7/16"H. Frame: 43.25"W x 23-5/8"H] Acquired 1988. SeqID-0078 8/3/2005
