"Mr. Duck Steps Out" (1940) - Title Card Signed by Walt Disney

The Title Card for the cartoon helps set the mood for the film -- to "telegraph" some story elements to get the audience in the right mood for the cartoon that is to follow. This card for "Mr. Duck Steps Out" (1940) communicates some of what is to follow.

At this point in time, Walt Disney was still very much involved in the creative process. Evidence of this involvement can be seen on the sheet attached to the Title Card artwork where "Walt's O.K." was actually part of the printed form! In addition to Walt's signature, the sign-off card refers to "Williams" -- possibly Roy Williams.
