"Fun and Fancy Free: Bongo" (1947)-Book & Cel

There are times when incorporating animation with other personal items increase the personal value of an item. In this case, we found a nice, but small, cel of Bongo the unicycle riding bear. Bongo had been a favorite of my wife, Jenny, and she still had a Bongo Golden Book her father had given her. We framed the cel and the book together in a hinged shadow box which could be opened and the book removed. The overall effect increases the perceived value of the object to the entire family.

As a side note, animation art is often displayed without the frame. Frankly, we spend quite a bit of time considering potential framing options. As with the Bongo cel, a unique frame can dramatically enhance an otherwise overlooked item.
